Google Global Firefox Extension is Your FriendPosted by Joe on July 13, 2007 in Tools |
Last week I posted a note about Google’s AdWords Ad Preview Page - a very handy tool to keep your unnecessary impressions to a minimal.
Well, we have another winner for you. You may be running international campaigns on Google blindly without knowing your competitive landscape. Now, seeing how your ads appear in another country is just a few clicks away! Our friends over at Red Fly Marketing have developed a plugin for FireFox that allows you to see how Google results pages (SERP) look in other countries: the Google Global Firefox extension.
Check it out!
And thanks to Dave for the heads up!

Hey Joe.
Thanks for the mention, very much appreciated. If you have any feedback or think there are some features that it could use, let me know. We’d like to make the tool as useful as possible.
Keep up the fantastic work.

Hey Dave:
Our pleasure! It’s a very handy tool. Are there other english-based Googles that you can add to the drop-down menu? Or are the present 5 the only ones? Might be a thought!

Hi Joe, thanks for the feedback. We left it at 5 for the sake of simplicity but it has the function to easily add more (Or remove more) according to your needs. Just add the country code in the settings.

[...] We posted about RedFly’s FireFox Google Global plugin last week. After I was done playing with the tool I thought of another great plugin: a tool that would allow you more visibility into geographically targeted campaigns. For example, I live in Bloomington, IN and if I run a campaign in Boise, ID it is impossible to gauge the competitive landscape because I don’t live there and I can’t see all of the ads running in that area. My idea was to create a tool where you could type your keyword into one field, and then a location in another field and you would receive search results for that keyword in that location. Well, the helpful folks at Google read my mind and developed this tool - almost exactly as I imagined (weird!). Anyway, here is the link to Inside AdWords that tells you all about their new Ad Preview Page. Don’t forget to subscribe to the PPC Hero feed! [...]
