Hi TJ, MSN/Bing now offers search query reports. Check out my post on it here. Also, Yahoo will be offering them soon. They actually already offer them, but you have to ask for them specifically from your Yahoo account rep. Thanks!

Search query reports are fine for Google, but what about Yahoo & MSN. Both offer limited ability to see what queries are matched to your keywords. I wish there were an easy system to see what is matched to Yahoo & MSN terms. I use Google Analytics for this or web logs.

Thanks John for this blog post and for sharing the statistic tool. I'll give it a try.
I agree 100% with you on the reports. I do not use the browser report but dump all data (as you) in an Excel sheet and slice and dice the data with pivot tables and pivot graphs. Especially with Excel 2007 you have more powerful pivot filters to dig deep into the data (an there is a lot of data). :)

@ PPC For Hire,

Yeah, that happens from time to time. I just update my reports appropriately and move on!

Hey Jon, I'm curious .. given that Google has a 30 day cookie - have you run into the issue with providing month end reporting only to find a few days later that there is are a couple additional conversions attributed to the campaign?

@ Elizabeth,

As a matter of fact, people don't talk about PPC reports nearly as often as you might think. Or at least on blogs that have decent Google rankings... ; ) But the "why" is often times just as important as the "how."

Nice post, you outlined WHY the reports you chose are important well, which is something that tends to get glossed over in similar posts I've seen elsewhere.

@ Silv,

Thanks for the comment. I agree - search query reports are priceless. The Teasley Statistical Calculator is quite handy. : )

Search query report - a priceless report!

Also some geographic reports now which can be useful if you run Geo Targeted campaigns - really identify which regions (or states in your case) drive your conversions!

Nice tool as well - have not heard of that before
