I use a tool called REF Code Analytics ( http://www.9thsphere.com/refcode-analytics.html ). It’s a tool that lets you track visits and conversions by people that don’t fill out a form, but instead call you directly. REF Code can be linked with Google Analytics & that lets you see all the details of any visitor. It is something any company that gets a high volume of calls through their website, should install.

This is really great. Can be a bit pricey though. I run a psychotherapy practice and there are a lot of directory listing services who offer call tracking as well some times for cheaper like http://www.psychologytoday.com or goodtherapy.com so if you are in this industry you should check them out. Might be a more affordable way even though you still wont be able to track the calls from your site.

Keyword radar has a system to track sales by phone. You can track phone sales down to the keyword that the visitor used to get to the site. I tried it for my business and it works great. It’s at http://www.keywordradar.com

We have used ClickPath (sucked), Mongoose Metrics (sucked even worse =really bad data) and finally KeyMetric (Thankt goodness – YEAH!!!) http://www.keymetric.net. We now get real-time call-to-keyword and search term information with KeyMetric, but also get simplified online conversion data that extends far beyond Google analytics yet takes 2 minutes to set up (unlike the big analytics players that take weeks).
