You should check out adMarketplace. They specialize in PPC in the content space instead of search. They do search as well, but they are text based for content. They just came out with a new graphical ad tag cloud which won an award at DOMAINfest and has made text ads more engaging, creating higher CTRS and conversion rates.

Thank you both!

@Bryan- I have been excluding sites with 0 clicks and more than 100 impressions. I may expand my cutoff points later to include sites that have gotten clicks, but I think removing those with 0% click through rates is good practice. Content click-through rates can be funky anyway, since they're so low in general and then you'll have random ones with 200% CTRs, that I'm erring on the side of being conservative for now.

Great article... Thanks for the info. I have a quick question for the author. What do you consider a very poor or low CTR rate for the content network. How many impressions without any clicks is enough to exclude a site?

Thanks!

Thanks for the great article! I've been learning PPC for about 2 months now and it definitely takes constant monitoring at first. Your comments helped me see that I am doing some things correctly, but also showed me a few new tactics and taught me more about how to effectively run my campaigns.

I've also wondered if some of the sites on the content network that Google auto-assigned our ads to were click fraud. Because typically, they really had nothing to do with our business or had any relevancy to our ads! And there would only be one click per site on them. But that one click per site added up very quickly.

Anyway, good information, thanks again for sharing.
