Hi JM, he didn't specifically say why bidding at the ad group level is risky. He mainly said that it's time consuming and if minimum bids increase or competitor bids increase then you will have to go in and adjust your bids at the keyword level which could take a while for larger campaigns.

And you are correct, the report templates in Google only allows you to run the report either every day, every Monday or the first of every month. Hopefully Google can change that soon!

Why would you bid at the adgroup level to reduce risk? I can understand the time savings part of bidding that way...

Also, in Google adwords if you automate the reporting, then either you get the reports daily or on just Monday last I checked. You can't specify a specific day or date to receive reports. That may have changed recently. I am not in the pay per click accounts everyday being we are a Seo Company. Thanks for the post...

Hi Steven, no I haven't tried those programs for campaign management. We try not to use those programs and do everything ourselves so we can learn and become better ppc advertisers. Thanks for reading!
