Thanks Amber, however when I create an export file from the Google Editor, there is no ad ID column in the .csv file. Am I missing something?

@Adamp, it will not overwrite what is already in yahoo and msn. It will recognize campaigns that already exist and make changes according to the campaign. I do this several times throughout the month. Note that if you are adding anything, you must copy and paste the same campaign, ad group, or ad id number in that row in order for yahoo or msn to recognize it.

How do you handle subsequent changes to a campaign?

For example, say after importing my adwords capmpaigns into yahoo, i make subsequent changes in google.

How do i reflect those changes in yahoo / msft?

If I redo the import process as you outlined, does that overwrite what i previously imported? will it duplicate a lot of stuff?

i guess the point is, do you have techniques to only apply 'deltas'?

thanks in advance and great info FYI.

@Ryan, yes you're right. Using adCenter desktop is great. I only wish yahoo could get something like it!

Hi Amber,

Microsoft adCenter Desktop makes importing campaigns from Adwords way easier than it used to be. You can upload an export of an Adwords campaign (in csv format) straight into adCenter Desktop without having to modify the structure at all. And the 500 line limit you mentioned doesn't apply either. It is so much easier!

Some people have pointed out that this method of uploading Google into Yahoo and MSN shouldn't be done, even though the functionality is there. In reality, all three search engines perform differently, and shouldn't have all the same bids, settings, etc. But doing this is a good start - and that's the basis of the post. To get started quickly! Once you have uploaded all of your keywords into Yahoo and MSN, you'll want to check on your stats and still see where your bids need to be adjusted on certain keywords and so on. Essentially, you do want the same keywords in all three accounts, just a different bids more than likely.

Also, yes there are some things you will need to change in your Google file before uploading into yahoo like negative keywords and start date as an example. If you are continually having problems uploading, just contact a yahoo or MSN rep and they can help you format your file to upload into their system. Trust me, they want your business so they're more than willing to help!

@Justin, just call your Yahoo rep or email Yahoo and ask them to add the import feature to your account. You no longer have to meet a threshold to get this feature!

@Amelia - I agree, that part of uploading into MSN is a real pain. Just email or call MSN and they will more than likely do this step for you!

I do not think this is an ideal thing to do. As correctly mentioned in above comments, i agree that we always try different keywords in different search engines... what works in google might not work on yahoo or msn. Though this is a good feature to save time but not recommended.

I agree these are some nice points made here. But, how come this be beneficial as we are trying to work on same keywords in all the accounts. Can we achieve good results trying out the same campaigns/keywords in different networks. I was thinking of something different here. Try different keywords in different networks for better results..what say?

You should really follow up on this post with an explanation of why it's a bad idea to load your Google account into Yahoo and Microsoft. Just because the functionality is there, it doesn't mean you should use it.
