Google Search Insights Logo

Google announced that they have moved Think Insights out of beta last week. At first glance, I didn’t think much of it. Butafter spending about 20 hours in it reading over research reports and searching for my name in the Insights for Search to see how I’m trending (I’m not), I’ve come to the conclusion that there is a wealth of information in this tool that will help you better manage your PPC campaigns.

Here are a few ways you can make the most out of Think Insights by Google.

Know If You Perform Better Than Your Competitors

Evaluate your Display performance against others using the same creative type or who are in your industry with Display Benchmark Tools. Use this information to determine if you have ads that perform worse than your competitors. If you identify any, get a design team cranking out fresh new creative, ASAP!

Sell Your Clients on New Ideas

If you are an agency, you can use the research to sell your clients on new channels or ideas. For example, did you know that 1 in 3 mobile searchers have local intent? Google’s done the research so you can sell your client on new ideas with confidence.

Implement Best Practices

The Facts and Stats section is packed with information that will guide you to best practices for your accounts. For example, according to Think Insights, site links increase CTR by 30%. Knowing this information helps you prioritize where to spend your time.

Lastly, reading their research papers, pouring through the stats section, and generally spending any free time you have in Think Insights will help you be more knowledgeable about what is happening in the paid search vertical, and allow you to take advantage of it!
