Back in May, Google announced they would soon be rolling out targeting options that would allow account managers to specifically target tablets. Some of you may have had limited access to these targeting options during testing, but as of today those options are available for all AdWords users!

For some time now, advertisers have been able to target mobile devices and certain tablet devices were included in that segmentation, but now there is a specific targeting option to show your ads on all tablets that have full browser capabilities. This means more than just iPad users will be able to see your ads and if your mobile numbers aren’t keeping up with your tablet numbers, you can target one or the other and aren’t forced to target all mobile devices to pull down tablet clicks or traffic.

The only thing that could make this better would be if it were easy to change this setting. Guess what? It’s incredibly easy! Simply navigate to the Settings tab in the AdWords interface, select the campaign you would like to edit, scroll down to the ‘Networks and devices’ section. From here, select the ‘Let me choose…’ option and it’s here you can click to choose tablets with full browsers (see screenshot below).

So is this a feature you plan to implement and take advantage of immediately in your AdWords accounts or do you have reservations about the new setting? Share your thoughts and ideas below in the comments section!
