We had the opportunity to interview Gary Henderson, who will be speaking about the brand effect and showcase the various positions brands can have at Hero Conf 2013.
Gary Henderson is the founder and CEO of Interactivity Marketing. Gary began Interactivity Marketing in 2009 on a shoe-string budget and started out as its only employee. Since then, Interactivity Marketing has grown into a national digital marketing powerhouse, doubling in size and revenue every year since its inception. The success of Interactivity Marketing allowed Gary to begin adding to the brand, establishing both a hotel marketing division, IHotel Marketing, and a vacation rental marketing division, IVacation Rental Marketing. All three branches provide digital marketing services to clients around the globe, with an average ROI of 20:1 for PPC.
A true digital marketing wizard, Gary Henderson has spoken about search marketing and advertising at events throughout the country and has been quoted in major publications such as USA Today and Forbes. PPC Hero: Tell us a little bit about yourself…
Gary: I am a serial entrepreneur. I thrive on using strategy, analytics and creativity to achieve results and love forming marketing relationships with a variety of clients. On a personal note i’m a huge UNC Tarheels fan, a father of two amazing kids and a husband to an amazing wife!
PPC Hero: Why did you decide to become an PPC professional??
Gary: It really came natural. I have been in digital marketing for about 14 years. The immediate results and gratification that paid search provides is a very important tool that we utilize daily for our clients and partners.
PPC Hero: What has your experience in PPC taught you about Account Structure?
Gary: I’ve learned to be laser focused.
PPC Hero: Tell us a little about what you’ll be speaking on at Hero Conf 2013?
Gary: I’ll talk about the brand effect and showcase the various positions your brand can appear. Even with the #1 organic result you can be far down. I’ll also showcase actual data of brand capture in the travel vertical and showcase the effective and amazing ROI.
PPC Hero: What features would you like to see AdWords and BingAds come out with in the future?
Gary: We use Adwords substantially more than Bing. I would love to see the actual advertisers and impression share for a keyword of a historical period. We can see it as we are bidding on words but I would like to see it prior. I know there are other tools but I would love this to be built into adwords.
PPC Hero: If you could predict where PPC will be in 3 years, what would you say?
Gary: Dominating the first page of results (75% of all positions for major terms), increasing in expense and highly customizable.
PPC Hero: What do you think is the most important thing to keep in mind when managing a PPC account?
Gary: ROI and KPI performance
PPC Hero: Outside of paid search and the Internet, what are your favorite ways to pass the time?
Gary: Watching sports, spending time with the family, helping people and growing businesses.
