PPC Hero Readers – We need your help! In a continuous effort to improve our blog we’d liked to update our Readership Stats. We’ve created a short survey that we’d love for you to help us with. Our goal is two-fold: first off, we would like to learn specific details about our readers which will help to write tailor-made content for the blog, and secondly we would like to collect, process and share this important data with the pay-per-click industry at large.

As an incentive for your participation, we’re offering the chance to win a landing page review from our PPC …

Over the last few weeks, we have been conducting the PPC Industry Survey in an effort to learn more about our core readership.  We’ve had a great turnout so far, but we know there are several of you who haven’t participated yet (and I know who you are…).

This is your last chance to share a little about yourself and help us out on our eternal quest for PPC knowledge.  I promise the survey is painless and will only take you a few short minutes!  Thanks in advance.

Calling All PPC Managers! Take the PPC Industry Survey Today

July 25th, 2008 | John | Surveys

Continuing in our effort to learn about PPC Hero’s readers, we have created a PPC Industry Survey.  Our goal is two-fold: first off, we would like to learn specific details about our readers (anonymously, of course) to write tailor-made content for the blog, and secondly we would like to collect, process and share this important data with the pay-per-click industry at large.

Huge hat-tip to SEOMoz.org for their SEO Industry Survey that we both admired and participated in earlier this year.  The PPC Industry Survey is considerably shorter, much faster to complete and created specifically for …

Our Readers Have Spoken! Learn What AdWords Report Was Voted as Your Favorite

July 7th, 2008 | John | Google AdWords, Surveys

A week ago I posted a survey asking all of you what your favorite Google AdWords report was.  More importantly, I also asked, “Why?”  As promised, today I’m going to share the results of that survey.

Favorite AdWords Reports By the Numbers

  • Search Query Performance:  54%
  • Placement Performance: 23%
  • Ad Group Performance: 8%
  • Campaign Performance: 8%
  • Placement/Keyword Performance: 8%

Reader Comments

Search Query Performance:
Allows you to ID negative keywords that needs to be added to your campaign. Although I also hate this report because of the nebulous “Other queries” groupings.
It’s good to search the report for repeat terms that aren’t relevant. These can then be …

Give Us Your Feedback! What is Your Favorite Google AdWords Report?

June 30th, 2008 | John | Surveys

One of the most important aspects of pay-per-click advertising is the ability to report on every detail of your account’s performance.  And of the PPC search engines, Google has cornered the market on reporting.  Within AdWords, there are 12 basic reporting templates.  Beyond that, there are countless options within each template for customizing the data your report will provide.

In my experience, I have found that the best PPC marketers are those who have learned to master the AdWords reports.  And each marketer has a particular favorite or a particular use for each report.  So, today I’m asking you to let …

AdWords Quality Score Survey Results Are In

July 30th, 2007 | Joe | Surveys

Our first survey was a success! First, we’d like to thank all 43 respondents for their participation. Below are the results of the survey. Tomorrow I will post an analysis of the survey results; and on Thursday I will post the extended comments we received.

The attributes featured in the survey were culled mainly from two sources: Bill Slawski’s discovery of US patents filed by Google that discuss the AdWords ranking model; and Google’s official AdWords help section. The list of attributes that could contribute to the AdWords Quality Score …

Google AdWords Quality Score Survey

July 18th, 2007 | Joe | Google AdWords Quality Score, Surveys

After doing some sleuthing into Google’s AdWords quality score, we’d like to ask for your opinion on the matter!
We created a list of the 12 most influential attributes of Google’s quality score and this survey asks for your opinion on how much weight each of these attributes carries in the overall quality score formula.

Inspired by a similar survey for organic ranking attributes conducted by SEOmoz, we will post the survey results and your feedback on our blog by July 24th. The survey should take less than 5 minutes to …
