Even though we have been managing accounts within Panama for the last five months, we are still acclimating to Yahoo!’s new interface – as I’m certain most online marketers are still trying to gain their bearings as well. Recently we released our handbook, Welcome to the Panama Jungle: a user’s guide to Yahoo!’s new interface, where we talk about the ins and outs of Panama. However, I’m going to discuss four ways you can easily enhance your performance (that are …

Are Your Google Keywords Actually Active?
I entered some new keywords into my Adwords account and I checked them the next day and found I had received no impressions yet. I scrolled over to the magnifying glass icon (the ad diagnostic tool) next to the actual keyword, and the pop up read: “The keyword phrase you’ve entered has a low search volume and isn’t showing any of your ads. If more users start searching for your keyword, your ad will begin to show. You don’t need …

Setting Up an International Yahoo! PPC Campaign
The advent of Yahoo!’s new Panama interface has been a great improvement over its predecessor. However, one piece Yahoo! chose not to include was access to their international network via a single account (much like Google does). As such, we advertisers must then seek out these foreign Yahoo! search engines and progress from there. A few days ago, after considerable research and consternation, I set up an account with Yahoo! UK for one of my clients.
The client in question already …

MSN adCenter Beta Quandary
A few weeks back, one of my MSN accounts was accepted into the new adCenter content network beta test. This particular client does exceptionally well with Content Match in Google, so my basic assumption was that I would see at least some improvement in MSN. Despite the addition of their content network, I have not seen any progress in this account.
The changes that MSN has made to the actual adCenter interface are excellent with this beta test. But optimized …
Yellow Fever in Adwords
Over at SERoundtable there has been a discussion regarding the new yellow background for advertisements within AdWords. Not only has the color been changed, but the configuration of the ads has been altered so that users have to click directly on each ad, rather than anywhere within the ad block display. These changes were launched on April 6.
Has the new yellow background, or new configuration, been hindering click-through-rates or overall click traffic? I ran a …

Answering a Few Questions for SEOmoz Rebecca
Upon her return from SES, Rebecca of SEOmoz published a blow-by-blow re-cap of her experience. Sounds like she had a great time! I need to get to SES next year. However, I am not posting to lament my absence from this year’s conference but rather to answer a few questions she poses, and comment on a few nuggets of truth she took away from the PPC session she attended.
What Rebecca Learned:
* According to Joshua Stylman from Reprise
