We talk a lot about PPC on this blog (I mean, duh, PPC Hero 🙂 ), but we don’t talk a lot about our company, Hanapin Marketing, the producers of this blog and the conference series, Hero Conf.
Every week, the same people that are running client accounts, solving problems, and strategizing for the future are the same people that write the blogs on here, present on webinars, write guides, and speak around the country. And the people you don’t see or hear about – Accounting, Admin, HR, Marketing, and Sales – are making logistics work, running events, and keeping the less “glamorous” (read: visible) stuff on track. As you can imagine (or know) it’s a busy job. We have an outstanding team and we want to keep it that way.
That’s why we have a sharp focus on maintaining an awesome work environment that is supportive, collaborative, and inspiring for our team. We’ve worked hard to build a culture that our team loves. And in doing so, we’ve won quite a few awards for it.
Last week, Hanapin Marketing was certified as a Great Place to Work by the independent analysts at Great Place to Work® in partnership with Fortune!! We earned this credential based on extensive, positive ratings provided by our team in anonymous surveys.
What does that mean?
The certification process takes months to complete. Along with a ton of information that has to be completed and submitted throughout the process, anonymous surveys are sent to the Hanapin team to complete. In order to get certified, 70% of employees have to say we are a Great Place to Work.
100% of our employees said we are a Great Place to Work. 100 PERCENT!
As a certified Great Place to Work, we automatically get entered in lists we qualify based on the survey results. Here’s a few of the Fortune lists we’re hoping to make:
- Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For
- Best Workplaces in Consulting & Professional Services
- Best Small & Medium Workplaces
- Best Workplaces for Parents
- Best Workplaces for Women
- Best Workplaces for Millennials
- Best Workplaces for Diversity
- World’s Best Workplaces
- Best Workplaces for Technology
We’ve already been recognized by Inc, Ad Age, and our state as a Best Place to Work, so making these lists are just the cherries and sprinkles on top!
The Results
“According to our study, 100 percent of Hanapin Marketing employees say it is a great workplace,” says Sarah Lewis-Kulin, Vice President of Great Place to Work Certification & List Production.
And that’s not the only thing we scored 100% on. Our team also say that people care about each other, that management is honest, ethical and competent, and that people are willing to give extra to get the job done.
It’s our belief that happy employees make happy clients; with a Net Promoter Score of 68 (for 2018) plus the high scores by our team, we’re thrilled that our workplace practices and activities have led to both.

Agency life is fast-paced and stressful sometimes, so it pays to have a supportive environment that works for the people and the company. We’re always working to better our culture, and we hope you are too.
We’re thrilled to have been certified, but even prouder of our excellent team and the devotion they have to each other, to clients, and to Hanapin Marketing.
But wait, we have an Announcement!
We now have a Job Board on PPC Hero! Multiple agencies (including ourselves) are hiring for PPC roles and their open positions are now posted. If you are looking for a new job in digital marketing or are wanting to get trained up into a PPC position, this is the place to the look.
If you are a company that has a digital marketing position available, you can make an account and also post it on the job board. We’ll be making a big announcement next week, but if you’ve made it to the end of this post, consider yourselves lucky that you got the info before anyone else 😉
