Create Mobile Landing Pages With No Programming Knowledge, For Free!
June 29, 2011
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, according to a study done by Brand Anywhere and Luth Research, 51% of consumers are more likely to purchase from retailers that have mobile-specific sites, yet, according to Google, 79% of large online advertisers don’t have a mobile optimized site. Furthermore, according to Google, t 61% of users are unlikely to return to a mobile site that they had trouble accessing from their phone, and 40% go to a competitor’s. To further amplify the need, recognize this: more smartphones are activated per minute than babies are born. If you’ve ever watched the counter on a world population clock, you know that means that smartphone usage is quickly growing.
Why am I nagging you about this, yet again? Today Google released a tool allowing even the least programming-inclined people to build professional mobile web pages. Now, there’s no reason that anyone should ever be without a mobile landing page. It’s also free, which means budget isn’t an issue. Now, remind me why you haven’t taken the time to build a mobile landing page?
How to Use The Tool:
It’s simple, you can create a mobile landing page in just a few simple steps.
- Select a template. Google has organized templates by business, so it’s easy to quickly select one.
- Choose a color scheme that fits your brand.
- Update the template with your logo, product photos, ad text, your phone number and your address. Your mobile landing page already has click to call and a map!
- Sign in to Google.
- Name your page and set up the destination URL. Hint, make the destination URL something that you will remember. It will make it quicker and easier to set up tests in the future.
Voila! You have a mobile landing page! Now start driving traffic and, don’t forget, track your page through Google Analytics to make sure that you are making the best of your mobile traffic.
